Keuken Kampioen Divisie, the second tier in the Netherlands, it is a breeding ground for talent. When it comes up to those talents, it is logical that most of the attention goes to young players of the U21 teams which take part of the competition. Players like Naci Ünüvar (Ajax U21), Shurandy Sambo (PSV U21) or Peer Koopmeiners (AZ U21) are expected to become the new stars of the first teams in the Eredivise soon. But what about the original Keuken Kampioen Divisie teams? We did an analysis to determine which players are the biggest talents (U21) in the second tier of the Netherlands based on Player Level.
Denso Kasius – FC Volendam
The 19 years old right-back is on loan from FC Utrecht and has the highest Player Level (1592) of U21 players in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Kasius is this season a very valuable player for FC Volendam. He has played 88% of the games, got subbed off only once and missed just two games due to an injury and a suspension.
Vicente Besuijen and Sem Steijn – ADO Den Haag
The 20 years old Besuijen is according to Player Level the second most promising player of the KKD. Sem Steijn, son of former ADO Den Haag manager Maurice Steijn, is developing impressive as well. The two youngsters have played in all 17 games for ADO Den Haag this season so far and are both directly involved with 12 goals.
Julian Baas and Marouan Azarkan – Excelsior Rotterdam
The two 19 years old talents are making a great impression this season in Rotterdam. Together, they delivered this season 21 goals or assists so far for Excelsior. Julian Baas is with a current Player Level of 1404 an outstanding product of the Excelsior-youth academy. The chance that these two talents will be playing together much longer isn’t very big.
